In 2025, the Trinidad and Tobago Court of Appeal reinstated the laws that criminalize homosexuality between men. The penalty is 5 years imprisonment, not 25 years as it had been before the laws were struck down.

On April 12th, the High Court of Justice ruled the ban on same-sex sexual activity unconstitutional and it was therefore overturned.
