In 2012, the Philippines passed Order No. 40 which prohibits discrimination in schools against children on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity. This also applies in CALABARZON.

In 2014, the province of Cavite provided for protections from discrimination in all areas on the basis of sexual orientation but did not include gender identity as a protected characteristic.
