The Gender Policy on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (2022), issued by the Ministry of Health, broadly protects sexual orientation and gender identity. It states that key groups include lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and asexual people.

The Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Law (2022), in its Section (5)(h) of Chapter 3, establishes that one of the responsibilities and powers of the Central Government is to "ensure the physical, mental, and social well-being of men, women, transgender persons, and children, as well as their social and economic well-being."
