- Newer law has been passed "As of 2022, thanks to the Mexican senate conversion therapy is classified nationwide as a felony punishable by 2 to 6 years in prison, which is doubled if the victim is underage. The bill is called ECOSIG. "

Since we’re a federal republic this effectively bans the “procedure” in the whole country, modifications to each state’s constitutions are not required for it to be a crime already
