| Region | Benin |
| Issue | Serving openly in military |
| Status | Lesbians, gays, bisexuals permitted, transgender people banned |
| Start Date | (unknown) |
| End Date | (none) |
| Description | In Benin, LGB people do not appear to be expressly banned from military service. Transgender service, however, should be treated as effectively not allowed or not practically available in an affirmed gender because Benin does not clearly provide legal gender recognition and I have not found any military rule protecting gender identity based service or allowing service according to a person’s affirmed gender. |
