| Description | House Bill 26-1322 signed by Governor Polis creates a private right of action for victims of conversion therapy. No licensed therapist may predetermine a patient's outcome regarding an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity. There is no statute limitations on the private right of action and families also have a private right of action 5 years after the victim's death. This law replaces the previous ban which was repealed by the US Supreme Court in Chiles v. Salazar for viewpoint discrimination. |
