DescriptionThere are some limited protections based on sexual orientation.

-Decree of 09/10/2020 on Gender assessments in Energy Projects protects sexual orientation under "Vulnerable groups" definition.

-Civil Servant Welcome and Integration Handbook issued in 2013 by the Office of the Commission for Institutional Development, states that all employees with the same status have the same rights with regard to the service and no distinction may be made based on the basis of sexual orientation."

-Manual for Providers for Care of victims of sexual and gender-based violence, issued in 2014 by the Ministry of Health, states that victims have the right to access services without discrimination based on sexual orientation. Also, one of the guiding Principles is to "Ensure non-discrimination" regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

-The Reproductive Health Procedures, issued in 2019 by the Ministry of Health, states that no one shall be discriminated against in their sexual and reproductive lives, or in access to health care and/or services, on the grounds of sex or sexual orientation.

-The Prisoner's Guide issued in 2021 by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights states that a person must not be subject to any discrimination in detention or differential treatment based on prejudice, including, but not limited to sexual orientation.

Some laws protect "sexual life" as senstitive personal data:
-Law No. 2013-015 on the Protection of Personal Data in the Republic of Mali.
-Law No. 2015-015 Regulating Credit Information Bureaus.
