  • Note field is incorrect "The National Health Conference's role is to gather suggestions for changes to be made to the country's laws to improve the population's health. However, many of the Conference's suggestions may be rejected or take a long time to be accepted. There is currently NO law prohibiting surgery on intersex children. Surgeries continue to occur in Brazil. The article itself, which is used as a source (https://abrai.org.br/historical-milestone-approval-in-the-brazilian-congress-reinforces-the-importance-of-non-surgical-approaches-for-intersex-infants/), makes it clear that this is the approval of a PROPOSAL."
