DescriptionThe Czech Registered Partnerships have been condemned for not having equal rights to marriage like in some other countries with civil unions. Differences between marriage and registered partnership are: different procedural questions (the ceremony is not the same), no automatic name change, no community property of spouses is created, and no parental rights (no joint-adoption form institutions, no step-parent adoption) etc.

  • All information is correct, just adding sources "A same-sex marriage bill is currently pending in the Parliament of the Czech Republic. It passed its first reading in June 2023, its second reading in February 2024, and is scheduled to receive a final reading sometime in 2024. Opinion polls show that the bill enjoys majority support among the Czech people."
