Description | Maine follows all procedures with WPATH's Standard of Care Ver. 8. WPATH suggests "Some physical manifestations of intersexuality may require early urgent intervention, as in cases of urinary obstruction or of adrenal crisis in CAH. Most physical variations among individuals with intersexuality neither impair function, at least in the early years, nor risk safety for the individual." Suggesting a very vague intervention unless the child is at risk. | Maine does not ban “normalization” surgeries performed on intersex infants. |
