Description | In 1935, Tasmania passed a law against crossdressing in public between sunset and sunrise, criminalising the gender expression of transgender women and crossdressing men. Later in 1990, Western Australia’s Decriminalisation of Sodomy Act took effect but also contained provisions banning promotion of homosexuality. No other states had laws censoring LGBTIQ+ expression or topics. |
