| Description | Tennessee introduced a bill banning "adult show performances" where minors could be present or be able to see. The wording of the bill describes "dressing as a gender different from the one assigned at birth" as part of a performance to be not suited for minors and thus banned in public spaces. This not only bans drag shows, but any performance from a trans person in public. A first violation of this offense is a Class A misdemeanor, and a second or subsequent violation of this offense is a Class E felony. |

edited by mineszilla. drag ban was allowed to go back into effect in 2024. this law does carry imprisonment charges if violated, though ACLU claims drag is still legal. state-enforced status will remain
