DescriptionThe Penal Code of Revolutionary Greece (Ἀπάνθισμα τῶν Ἐγκληματικῶν; Collection of Criminal Offenses) criminalized men who engaged in same-sex practices (ἀρσενοκοῖται). However, for offenses considered to go against morality, the courts during the Greek Revolution did not apply the provisions of the Apanthisma, but rather the provisions of the Byzantine criminal law, the Basilika.
