| Description | In 2023, Florida passed a law banning transgender people from using bathrooms of their gender identity in all buildings owned or leased by the state. Penalties for public entities which do not comply with the law may face a fine of up to $10,000. The bill also says that a transgender person who doesn't leave a bathroom of their gender identity once told to do so by a government authority is committing criminal trespass, considered a second-degree misdemeanor and punishable by up to 60 days in prison and a $500 fine. |
