| Description | In the case of "National Coalition for Gay and Lesbian Equality and Another v Minister of Justice and Others", [1998] ZACC 15, the Constitutional Court struck down the offences of "sodomy" and "unnatural sexual acts" on 9 October 1998. This judgment was retroactive to the date that the Interim Constitution came into force on 27 April 1994, but it did not automatically overturn all convictions during that period. It is however unlikely that there were any convictions for consensual adult acts during that period. |
