Description | In 2011, Para passed Law No. 7567, which explicitly prohibits both incitement to discrimination and engaging in activities involving the creation, sale, distribution, or conveyance of symbols, emblems, ornaments, badges, or promotional material that encourage or prompt discrimination, bias, prejudice, animosity, and violence on the basis of sexual orientation. However, gender identity was not protected and no other hate crime protections existed until 2019. |
