  • Status is not correct
  • Other "Conversion therapy is not explicitly banned, but it is de facto unavailable. All practitioners of mental health services (including those claiming to provide mental health services) are legally required to hold a recognised qualification and to be registered with the appropriate regulator. Provision of mental health services by someone who is not qualified or not registered is a criminal offence. Conversion therapy is not recognised by the relevant professional associations in Ireland as a valid care pathway and as such any professional practicing such therapies would lose their licence to practice. The status of this is more likely "ambiguous", in that anyone who did provide conversion therapy would be breaking the law in a very general way - i.e. practicing unlicenced mental health care. "
