  • Newer law has been passed "As Wikipedia says, there's no need to go through operation to change gender. "
  • Status is not correct "Surgery is not required to change your legal gender in any of the approved states. No all states allows the gender change by administrative proceduce (its easier) but possible nationwide with juridic help. Also Non-Binary is recognized by the federal goverment in our IDs and our CURP, but changing the gender to NB stills hard and can only be done in mexico city."
  • Other "This is what the supreme courte says: "No deben exigir la acreditación de operaciones quirúrgicas u hormonales." informal translation: [They] should not require the acreditation of surgical operations or hormonal [operations or intervention]" "[...] no puede requerir que se lleven a cabo intervenciones quirúrgicas totales o parciales ni terapias hormonales, esterilizaciones o modificaciones corporales para sustentar el requerimiento para otorgar lo solicitado o para probar la identidad de género que motiva dicho procedimiento, pues ello es contrario al derecho a la integridad personal." This essentialy says that forcing people into surgeries, hrt, sterilization, and/or other physical changes (in order to rectify their legal gender) goes against a person's personal integrity. The "only in Mexico City" part is also innacurate, several states (regions) have legalized this legal change."
